The spider is still there, by the front door. It has a big sac of eggs. Tonight it made its web go across my front door. I poked my head out to see it, and it was right in my face YIKES!!! It scared the crap out of me! It weaves a really cool web. It's an Orb Weaver. Can you believe this is actually a Charlotte? Maybe I'll get a magical message after all. It still might be MYOB!!!

Happy Birthday Taylor!

When Lauren knew Taylor was the one, we invited him to Charleston over Christmas. We immediately liked this young man. He got dressed in his Sunday clothes to meet Phil in the bishop's office to ask to marry our daughter. He was everything we'd hoped for in a son-in-law. We quickly grew to love this patient, kind young man. We don't think of him as an in-law, just as a son.
We are proud of his endurance over the past five years. He has been both full time student and breadwinner. He has been a great husband and father. We love and respect this man. We are proud to have him in our family.

Happy Birthday Mason Tuttle!

I can't believe he's three years old. The first time I saw him was on a picture mail soon after he was born. I was working in my classroom waiting anxiously for the news from Utah. I immediately felt that grandparent feeling that he was the most wonderful child in the world. When I saw him at the hospital three days later, he stole my heart. We love you Mason! You are an amazing little guy! Happy Birthday from G.G. and Pop.
Thank you Jessie for a beautiful picture!

Be Nice to Spiders
I am so fascinated by spiders. Every summer I have a favorite one that I watch daily. Last summer I had a favorite Banana spider in the backyard. It entertained me from June til October. Then one night, a bad storm blew in and injured it and it died. That ended my dilema as to what to do when the cold weather came. I seriously considered catching it and putting it in an aquarium.
This year my favorite spider has a web on my front porch near one of the lights by the door. It started out as a tiny little guy. It only comes out at night and it traps lots of those pesky little flies that I hate. I keep waiting for it to write a message- like "Mind your own business" or something like that because the other day, Phil caught a giant roach and flung it into the web. The spider ran away and the roach fell to the ground. Even spiders hate roaches!
