Earth Day Project

This week is School Secretaries Week. It coincides with Earth Day. My friend Somer posted a great idea on her blog for a craft uisng recycled materials. I decided that we could make a gift for the secretaries using the idea. The kids had fun and learned to make a beautiful flower from catalogs and the secretaries loved their gifts. The activity fit right into my budget- free! We are learning to do our part to help the environment and saving money at the same time. The kids loved it so much and were so proud of their flowers. They want to do it again for Mother's Day. Thank you Somer!

Happy Anniversary!

Tomorrow is our anniversary. We were married 30 years ago in the Washington Temple. Time has flown by! The past 30 years have been great. We may be lots older looking on the outside, but somehow, I think we now feel younger on the inside. Maybe it's because we made it through raising the kids and the hard stuff. I do know a good sense of humor and lots of love made it easier.

I met this guy in the summer of '73, just after high school graduation. The first time I saw him I thought he was so cute! He was blessing the sacrament in our new ward in Columbia, SC. He was pretty cocky, but he had the most fun sense of humor and was a really good kisser! Five years later, I married that guy and I love him to death!
Phil is so much fun to be with! He is full of mischief and I love that in his heart he is still a boy. I am married forever to my very best friend! I am looking forward to another 30 years with lots more fun to come.

I loved this post so I'll try to do it again. Here goes:

25 years ago I experienced complete joy. I had a wonderful husband, a perfect little boy, and I wished for a baby girl. My wish came true! I got my baby girl and the feeling I felt when I saw my girl was absolute joy! I can't say that I've had that same feeling again, but I will never forget it.
Lauren has brought so much happiness into our lives. She is a wonderful woman and one of my best friends! Happy birthday month to you! I love you.
